Local clothing store stays true to itself – LaGrange Daily News

LaGRANGE – Dry Falls Outfitters, a local clothing store, likes to stick to its own formula. The owners aren’t too concerned with the fits that other clothing stores have.

“I can honestly say that we are not looking to jack up the prices,” said Jacklyn Lewis, director of Dry Falls Outfitters. “We are sticking to our guns. We’re not a company that says they’re going to go to another company and raise their prices because they’ve done it. Once we set a price, we stick with that price.

Dry Falls Outfitters is an outdoor clothing store specializing in the sale of Southern lifestyle clothing. The store carries clothing from companies such as North Face, Patagonia, Peach State Pride, Georgia Boy, Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Yeti, Costa, Chaco, Toms and more.

“We are selling a unique brand, a southern brand,” Lewis said. “We have hunting line clothing, preppy clothing, mountain khakis, hiking clothing, boutique line, fishing clothing and our Southern line is selling well to high school and middle school students.”

Dry Falls Outfitters is an independent business that was founded by William Turner in 1936. Turner’s son, Bud Turner, and daughter Mary De Palma took over the business shortly after their father passed away. Both are currently CEO and CFO of Dry Falls Outfitters.

Both Turners decided at one point to expand the business. The first Dry Falls store opened in Griffin. The second store opened at the Macon shopping center. The third store opened here at LaGrange. The fourth store opened as a small men’s store called Dry Falls at Prado in Macon which is an upscale shopping area in Macon.

Dry Falls Outfitters currently has four stores in the state of Georgia.

“We’re catering to the needs of the Southern brand, but we’re trying to come up with what’s new,” Lewis said. “We are a casual clothing store. We are not trying to be rigid. We will relax with customer service. We stick to what we do and that’s selling but we don’t push. We want people to feel welcome and hospitable here.
