Local restaurants donate 100% of profits to families of fallen heroes

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – For one day only, local fundraising group Fundaxi organized 10 restaurants across New Mexico to donate 100% of their profits to the Metro 2 Family Relief Fund.

“What we are doing today is supporting the families of deceased heroes who have tragically lost their lives,” said Rebecca Chavez, director of human resources and marketing.

Organizers said there were no shortage of places to show their support on Wednesday.

“It’s only dine-in and take-out,” Chavez said. “You can visit any of the restaurants for the rest of the day, and they’ll make sure your donations are counted towards the final profits that go to the families.”

Organizers said supporters can also purchase a gift card, in lieu of a meal, or donate directly to families through the Metro 2 Family Relief Fund.

Chavez said it was an opportunity for the community to give back to the four fallen heroes, who dedicated their lives to caring for others.

“They all provided services to our community members, they are all heroes to us, and the way we feel at Fundaxi, our goal is to help our community members,” Chavez said. “So for them who are willing to put their lives on the line, every day, to help us and be there for our families in our community, it’s only right to give back to their families as well.”
