St. John Industrial Group shares 2020 emissions data and supports local restaurants – L’Observateur

RESERVE – The St. John Industrial Group has seven members in 2021: Air Products SMR (Garyville), ChampionX (a new company of this group which has just celebrated its first anniversary), Denka Performance Elastomer, DuPont, Evonik – Garyville, Evonik – Nalco reserve and water.

Due to the success of the 2020 program and the uncertainties associated with Hurricane Ida and COVID-19, the St. John Industrial Group has maintained its method of sharing emissions data in 2021. In previous years, the group had organized an environmental art competition for St. John Parish School students in grades 3 to 6 and announced the winners at a fall breakfast attended by the students, their families , teachers and principals, as well as guests comprising a broad cross-section of the community and elected officials. As the St. John Industrial Group shared emissions data, this annual event became an opportunity for young students to become more aware of the environment, become interested in science and have the chance to ‘express their ideas artistically.

As schools, students, teachers and families continue to face challenges, the industry group has strengthened its 2020 plan. The St. John Industrial Group will no longer host the art competition or breakfast this year. . On November 15, the St. John Industrial Group will be sending postcards to every household and business in St. John the Baptist Parish encouraging residents to visit the website where emissions data is shared on each business page. The complete St. John Industrial Group newsletter is now available online at
